Dr. Katharine Hubbard
Bio
Katharine Hubbard’s research focuses on stereotypes in advertising and the knowledge gap between practitioners and academics. She is also interested in health communications research. Dr. Hubbard brings her agency experiences as a copywriter and behavioral designer into her teaching and research.
Experience
Dr. Hubbard joined Sam Houston State University in August 2019. She earned her Ph.D. in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin in 2016. Her agency experience includes working on campaigns for the Nebraska Tourism Commission, Nebraska Game and Parks, AT&T, and Black People Meet.
Teaching Specialties
Dr. Hubbard teaches courses on public relations and advertising. She has completed the ACUE course and has received the Engaged Learning Fellowship and a Teaching Innovation Grant.
